PHARMACY SAFETY STAND DOWN OCTOBER 13-14

Fort Rucker Army Base, AL — Pharmacy will be closed to beneficiaries to allow staff to clear all backlogs and reset for improved workflows and processes starting Oct 17. OCTOBER 11-12: Reduced services, new prescriptions drop offs will not be available. OCTOBER 17: ** NEW** Drop Off Forms no longer required. Same day service implemented! OCTOBER 17-21: Increased wait times initially but will return to normal.

Pharmacy Park & Pick Up Kiosk Hours Adjusted

Fort Rucker Army Base, AL — Due to the MHS GENESIS transition, pharmacy wait times have increased. The Pharmacy Park & Pick Up ticket kiosk will now close at 3 p.m. daily to ensure the team can maintain safety and quality control. This will provide time to complete the tickets of those already in the clinic. Current wait times have exceeded two hours. We will post an update when we return to normal operating hours. We do apologize for this inconvenience. We ask for your patience and understanding as we integrate MHS GENESIS to provide you with top-notch care.

ADJUSTED SERVICES – MHS GENESIS TRANSITION

Fort Rucker Army Base, AL — Due to MHS GENESIS transition, Lyster Army Health Clinic will have the following adjusted services. Pharmacy: Scheduled downtime for audio care (pharmacy refill call in system) 22 Sept - 24 Sept. TOL Secure Messaging: Last day to send message to provider 22 Sept. TOL: Online Appointment scheduling option will be unavailable 18-23 Sept. Pharmacy Drop Off: Last day to submit via TOL secure messaging is 22 Sept. Lab: Closed at 1200 on 23 Sept. PAD: Patients do not need to have records printed, they will automatically transfer over into MHS GENESIS following launch. Sick Call: Not available 26 Sept. MHS GENESIS Patient Portal: Patients will not be able to schedule appointments online via the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal for the first two weeks after go live, please call the appointment line 800-261-7193.

MHS GENESIS goes live this fall at Lyster

Fort Rucker Army Base, AL — On September 24, 2022 the Department of Defense’s new Electronic Health Record (EHR), MHS GENESIS, will launch at Lyster Army Health Clinic and Brown Dental Clinic at Fort Rucker. “We are very fortunate to be part of such an instrumental change that will be able to enhance and standardize how we provide care on a daily basis. The MHS GENESIS Patient Portal, replacing Tricare Online (TOL), is going to be the biggest change that beneficiaries will actually see firsthand. It will offer the same functionality as TOL but will have automatic registration and more sign in options,” explained Maj. Douglas Kuhlman, Deputy Commander of Administration at Lyster.

Sensory event provided resources to families

Fort Rucker Army Base, AL — Educational Developmental Intervention Services (EDIS) partnered with the New Parent Support Program (NPSP), and the ACS Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) for a Sensory Gala event on Friday, July 22. The children and families enjoyed sensory activities while learning about programs and activities available to them. Ms. Holly Mello and Ms. Kelley Prendergast with the Lyster Army Health Clinic's EDIS program provided information about available resources and types of early intervention services for birth to three years.

LAHC staff puts fire extinguishers to good use during training event

Fort Rucker Army Base, AL — Though fire extinguishers are required in nearly any building, many people have never used or even held a fire extinguisher. Over the past two months, Lyster Army Health Clinic (LAHC) employees have had an opportunity to practice basic firefighting skills using a fire extinguisher to extinguish a small fire. This hands-on training allowed employees to physically employ the PASS method and refine their skills. With the assistance of the Fort Rucker Fire Department, the training taught employees how to choose the right fire extinguisher for a fire and how to use a fire extinguisher properly.
