Active Duty hearing conservation appointments can be scheduled at the clinic or by calling the audiology front desk at (334) 255-7185. Clinic hours for appointments are as follows:
* Closed every day from 1200-1300
**Closed Wednesday and Thursday mornings for flight physicals
*** Custom Ear Mold Appointments are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1500, need to scheduled
COVID-19 Hearing Conservation Readiness Exam Process:
Procedures have been modified to reduce possible exposure to COVID-19.
1. Patient will be screened prior to building entry.
2. Hearing booth runs every 30 minutes with no more than 4 people in the booth at a time. If the time slot is full when patient arrives, they will be given next available slot.
3. Patient will be asked to stand during testing.
The Audiology Clinic provides routine screenings to evaluate basic hearing acuity; complete audiometric evaluations and impedance audiometry to identify the degree and type of hearing loss and proper medical referral; hearing aid evaluation procedures; guidance and counseling for different types of hearing loss, use and care of hearing aids; minor repair of hearing aids, assessment of balance/vestibular disorders and electroacoustic analysis.
Hearing conservation and medical fitting of pre-formed hearing protection is completed on an annual basis for all military personnel at Ft Rucker.
The Audiologist provides health education classes upon request.
