The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

OPEN FOR CARE - Despite the lapse in government appropriations, you will still be able to access your TRICARE benefits here at Lyster Army Health Clinic as well as other military hospitals and clinics. Continuity of health care delivery is the highest priority for the Defense Health Agency, and we remain ready to serve the Fort Rucker community. For general information about TRICARE services during the government lapse in appropriations visit https://www.tricare.mil/shutdown - Military pharmacies will remain open during the lapse in appropriations, but operations may be reduced and wait times may be longer than normal. OCT 31 Retiree Health Fair

Retirees and their Family members are invited to the Fort Rucker Annual Retiree Health Fair Friday, Oct. 31 from 8:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.at Yano Hall. Lyster Army Health Clinic along with other Fort Rucker and community health participants will have information and interactive areas to educate Retirees on numerous health topics including disease management, digestive health, physical therapy, nutrition, and more.
